Mr N: Solving your wedding day dilemmas

THE COUPLE WITH EVERYTHING

Dear Mr N

My fiancé and I have been living together for some years now. And are settled in a home with everything we could possibly need. We are having trouble finding a suitable gift list, and are perhaps even considering not having one altogether. What gift list can you recommend?

Carrie, Leeds

Firstly you must have a gift list. Insane not too. Guests will buy you presents, list or no list. Plus you run the risk of ending up with various items (including a dozen toasters) you don’t want. Aside from the obvious (The Wedding Shop at Selfridges, John Lewis, Debenhams and House of Fraser) you also have real high-end luxury shops offering totally bespoke lists. Such as Thomas Goode in London’s Mayfair, they allow you to create a personalised fine dining crockery set that all your guests can pledge money towards. Alternatively Beyond Weddings offer an interior design gift list. There are also Honeymoon lists from the likes of Scott Dunn. The variety is out there, just ensure you pick enough items of varying budgets to suit guests spending amounts.
